A Deformation Method for Moving Grid Generation

چکیده
In recent years several new moving grid methods have shown promising potential for applications in the numerical solution of time dependent differential equations. In this paper, a deformation method is reviewed and some new developments related to the method are presented. In particular, the method is applied to grid morphing and adaptive grid generation on domains with moving boundary. The method works for both structured and unstructured grid generation.

An Efficient Dynamic Mesh Generation Method for Complex Multi-Block Structured Grid
Aiming at a complex multi-block structured grid, an efficient dynamic mesh generation method is presented in this paper, which is based on radial basis functions (RBFs) and transfinite interpolation (TFI). When the object is moving, the multi-block structured grid would be changed. The fast mesh deformation is critical for numerical simulation. In this work, the dynamic mesh deformation is comp...

A number of problems of dynamic deformation in the presence of moving contact surfaces are considered. A grid characteristic method using a two-dimensional irregular triangular grid and a hybrid scheme with 1-2 order of approximation is adapted. An algorithm for calculating the force of friction and the force of static friction is proposed. The numerical solution to wheel rolling and shear wave...
متن کاملDeformable Registration Combined with 3D SIFT Matching and Moving Least Squares
Free-form deformation (FFD) is widely used in deformable image registration. FFD uses a regular grid of control points to generate image deformation. Accurate optimization of the control-point displacement relies on an appropriate initial-deformation of the regular grid. In this work, a hybrid registration of landmark-based and free-form deformation is proposed and applied to lung CT images. Co...
متن کاملEfficient Higher-Order Shear Deformation Theories for Instability Analysis of Plates Carrying a Mass Moving on an Elliptical Path
The dynamic performance of structures under traveling loads should be exactly analyzed to have a safe and reasonable structural design. Different higher-order shear deformation theories are proposed in this paper to analyze the dynamic stability of thick elastic plates carrying a moving mass. The displacement fields of different theories are chosen based upon variations along the thickness as c...
متن کاملSpectral Finite Element Method for Free Vibration of Axially Moving Plates Based on First-Order Shear Deformation Theory
In this paper, the free vibration analysis of moderately thick rectangular plates axially moving with constant velocity and subjected to uniform in-plane loads is investigated by the spectral finite element method. Two parallel edges of the plate are assumed to be simply supported and the remaining edges have any arbitrary boundary conditions. Using Hamilton’s principle, three equations of moti...
